On 17 September the assistants network of DG Competition (European Commission) will be organising a fundraiser with the theme “Strictly come dancing.”
Le 17 septembre, le réseau des assistants à la DG Concurrence (Commission européenne) vont organiser une collecte de fond sur le thème “Stricly come dancing” (Venez strictement dancer). Cette année étant l’année européenne contre la pauvreté et l’exclusion sociale, ils ont décidé que les bénéfices de la soirée devraient aller à des projets en faveur des enfants défavorisés de notre ville. Ils ont demandé à Serve the City de gérer l’argent récolté et d’organiser des projets à la fois chouettes et éducatifs. Nous travaillerons en partenariat avec des associations et groupes et les fonds seront ciblés sur les enfants vivant dans les Marolles, enfants de demandeurs d’asile et enfants de victimes de maltraitances. Nous sommes très reconnaissants à la DG Concurrence pour cette initiative de valeur et pour sa générosité.
This being the European Year for Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion, they have decided that proceeds of the evening should go towards projects which support underprivileged children in our city. Serve the City has been asked to administer the funding and organise fun, educational projects. We will work with partner associations and groupings and funding will be targeted towards the children living in the Marolles, children of asylum seekers and children of victims of abuse. We are very grateful to DG Competition for this worthwhile initiative and their generosity.
